I have a wooden Vernors box from 1966. It is in almost mint condition. It has printed on the inside with: STURDY-BILT by Southern Wooden Box Inc. Jonesboro, Ark 3-66 Vernors is printed on each side of the box both inside and outside. Does anyone have information as to who might be interested is such a box for nostalgia reasons? Thank you Darrell Poliquin

I've read several emails on your website re Vernors and the Boston Cooler - specifically why this marevlous drink is called what it is called. It was indeed "invented" in Detroit and using Vernors with vanilla ice cream - but the drink is unknown in Boston and most every place else. The name of the drink is taken from a street in Detroit... Boston Boulevard. I grew up in Detroit... moved to Milwaukee with my father's job at American Motors in the 1950's and have been bringing back cases of Vernors to Milwaukee for years and years... only recently and to my great joy have we been able to start finding it again in stores around Southeastern Wisconsin.

I remember smelling the wonderful Wonder Bread factory every morning whil driving to Univ. of Detroit. I remember Lou's Deli, their absolutely great coffee across from the "grave" Marygrove. I attended the dental school and main campus and had music classes at Marygrove. I waited on coach Vitale, his wife and two young daughters at Momma Mia's restaurant where I was a waitress for a week. I recognized him, and he denied who he was right to my face! I remember the two dollar tip I got from him too. I remember the "big tire" on the freeway. Farrell's Ice cream and the ZOO! J.L Hudsons, Crowleys, Kresge's ...Lekofsky's great corned beef sandwiches on rye slathered in mustard, and a Creamed Loganberry from Kreeger's. Miss Bob-lo, and the ethnic festivals downtown in the summer. I lived in Dearborn and attended Edsel Ford in the '70's. Comerica park didn't exist and we had a Tiger's Stadium. Oh yes, one thing that never changes are the great pot holes on I-94.

Grew up within walking distance of James Vernors Elementary School....you haven't had Vernors if you haven't had it on TAP! Too bad Vernors sold out to the various companies....Is it my imagination, or did they make it sweeter to meet the expectations of the "Pepsi Generation"? Or, is it not aged properly in oak making it seem sweeter? I can get it locally, but in 2L plastic or cans. My previous experience with cans years ago was it tasted like bugspray in cans...did they ever resolve this? Native Michigander, living in Florida.

I have enjoyed Vernors Gingerale for over 55 years. At one time, the product was unavailable in my area. Happily, I was again able to purchase the product. When I share it with friends, they enjoy the product. It beats cola by a long shot.

I can remember when my parents used to take me to the vernors factory when I was little and I just loved Vernors and chocolate milk mixed half and half. To this day I still like my Vernors (diet now) and Chocolate milk.

I grew up next to a Vernors route driver "Mr. Zalinski" whom was a great neighbor. He introduced my family to your Ginger Ale product. After 40 years it is still the best cold or hot when I have a cold or flu. It is available here in North Georgia, a long way from Detroit and those early days. Thank You.
